Day 1:

Arrival to St. Petersburg. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

Day 2:

Sightseeing City tour with visit to Peter-and-Paul Fortress (duration 3.5 hours)

During the tour you will get acquainted with the main architectural and historical monuments of St. Petersburg. In the course of the tour you will have an opportunity to see the main avenues, bridges and embankments of the Palmyra of the North. Nevsky prospect, Vassillievsky Island. Also you will know the history of the Romanov’s dynasty and the present day life of the former capital of Imperial Russia

In Peter and Paul’s Fortress: you may see the Pantheon of the Romanov’s Royal House in Peter and Paul Cathedral, including the founder of the city – Peter the Great, a boat, reportedly made by Peter the Great, a political prison – museum (Peter’s own son Tsarevich Aleksey was imprisoned here for his resistance to Peter’s reforms), mint, temporary exhibitions.

• Visit to St. Isaak’s Cathedral(duration 1 hour)

The greatest monument of late classicism of the XIX century; the cathedral is the 3-rd among the largest dome-buildings of Europe. Designed by Auguste Monferrand, the cathedral is considered to be a real monument to the labor of the Russian craftsmen.

• Time for lunch in a city restaurant.

• Visit to the State Hermitage Museum (duration 3 hours)

The State Hermitage occupies six magnificent buildings situated along the embankment of the Neva River, right in the heart of St Petersburg. The leading role in this unique architectural ensemble is played by the Winter Palace, the residence of the Russian tsars that was built to the design of Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli in 1754-62. In 1764 Russian Empress Catherine the Great purchased a considerable collection of Western European Paintings, laying the Foundation for the modern-day Hermitage. Put together throughout two centuries and a half, the Hermitage collections of works of art (over 3,000,000 items) present the development of the world culture and art from the Stone Age to the 20th century. Today the Hermitage is one of the largest museums in the world.

Day 3:

• Half-day tour to Pushkin (Tsarskoe Selo), visit to Catherine Palace, Amber Room and Park

Pushkin (Tsarskoe Selo): One of the Imperial residences built during the reigns of 5 tzars. It is the site of the Yekaterininsky Palace, named for Peter I's wife, Catherine I. Catherine Palace with its Grand Hall, Amber Room, Picture Hall is a real Baroque masterpiece created by Rastrelly. The unforgettable beauty of this place was described by poets and artists.

 • Time for lunch in a restaurant in Pushkin. 

• Tour to Pavlovsk (Paul’s Palace + Park) the summer residences of the Russian tsars. (Tour duration Pushkin + Pavlovsk - 5.5 hours)

Pavlovsk: One of the most beautifully restored palaces in Russia. Originally hunting grounds these lands were a gift from Catherine II to her son Paul, future emperor, in 1777. The palace was built by famous architects Cameron, Brenna, Voronikhin and Rossi. The 1500-acre park is one of the largest landscaped parks in Europe

• Back to the hotel.
• In the evening: Optionally visit to the world-famous Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theater (opera or ballet performance).

Day 4:

Breakfast at the hotel

• Tour to Peterhof (Grand Palace and Fountain Parks), the most outstanding summer residence of the Russian tsars, so-called Kingdom of Fountains. (duration 4.5 hours)

The first of the great Imperial palatial ensembles founded outside St.Petersburg, the town of Palaces, fountains and parks. It was built by Peter the Great to rival Versalles.

• Time for lunch in a local restaurant in Peterhof.

• Visit to the Yusupov Palace (including cellar where Rasputin was killed) (duration 1.5 hours)

A monument of classical architecture, it was built by J.-B. Vallin de la Mothe in 1760 for Princes Yusupov, the richest aristocratic family in Russia. It was in this palace that Grigori Rasputin, the favorite of Nicolas II and his wife, was murdered in December 1916

• Evening at your free disposal or optionally: Visit to Mikhalovsky Opera and Ballet Theater (ballet or opera performance)

In 2001, the Mikhailovsky Theater reclaimed its historic name, and in 2007, it was recognized as St. Petersburg’s most prestigious musical theater. Today, while preserving Russia’s centuries-old musical theater traditions, the Mikhailovsky Theatre is constantly strives to be at the forefront of contemporary world theater
